Chambers: want to improve complaints handling? Come to the latest Legal Ombudsman training on good practice

30 May 2014

The Legal Ombudsman is hosting a seminar on complaint handling skills, to be held on Monday from 16:00 to 18:30 on 30 June 2014.

The seminar is designed to help attendees better understand the process and principles followed by the Legal Ombudsman when it investigates complaints. It looks at implications for best practice and internal complaint handling procedure.

The seminar has been specifically designed for the Bar, and will draw on real life case studies of complaints. The course will be run by staff involved in the day to day handling of complaints, including a member of their Ombudsman team.

Increasingly, the Bar Standards Board (BSB) is seeing many chambers take the positive step of viewing complaints as a chance to analyse and improve their current processes. The BSB would encourage members of the Bar and chambers' staff to consider attending the new seminar, which will give them a chance to sharpen their skills.

The event will take place at the BSB's offices at 289-293 High Holborn, London, WC1V 7HZ, and is CPD accredited.

For more details about the course, including price and how to register, please visit the Legal Ombudsman's website at http://www.legalombudsman.org.uk/lawyers/cpd-courses.html.
