Applications for part-time undergraduate QLDs or graduate-entry law degrees (‘Senior Status’ degrees) should be made directly to the course provider.”
  • Addition of ‘Resources’ section with links to the QLD Provider List and QLD Collaborative Arrangements List.

  • Future Requirements box – correction of second bullet point under the heading ‘2019/20 Academic Year’ – “The concept of a QLD will no longer apply to Bar training for courses starting in (or after) the 2019/20 academic year” (addition of the word ‘no’).
  • Future Requirements box – deletion of the second and third bullet points under the heading ‘2020/21 Academic Year’.
  • Future Requirements box – amendment of the first bullet point under the heading ‘2021/22 Academic Year’ – “The SRA will cease to be involved in the approval or recognition of new QLD/CPE courses that start in or after the 2021/22 academic year, following the introduction of the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE)” (addition of the full title of ‘Solicitors Qualifying Examination’)
  • Future Requirements box – addition of the following as a second bullet point under the heading ‘2021/22 Academic Year’ – “Subject to further detail from the SRA in due course, we intend to allow some equivalence for part-qualified solicitors. For example, we expect that passing the SQE Stage One (which incorporates knowledge of the foundations of legal knowledge subjects) should be enough as an equivalent to the academic component of Bar training. This, we think, should aid students in deciding what law programme to attend, meaning that they could postpone decisions on their eventual career intentions.”

The funding rules may be waived in whole or in part by the BSB.”

  • Movement of former paragraphs - former paragraph 2.11 to become a new paragraph 2.4, former paragraph 2.12 to become a new paragraph 2.5, former paragraphs 2.13 and 2.14 to become new paragraphs 2.6 and 2.7.
  • Updating of link to the Non-practising period completion form – new paragraph 2.9
