We are aware of the recent judgement in the Mazur case on who may conduct litigation. Our view of the judgement is that it does not change the law in this area. Barristers should continue to refer to our guidance on conducting litigation, which provides advice on which activities fall within the reserved activity of ‘conduct of litigation’. That advice is available here. We are considering whether any further guidance would be helpful, in consultation with other legal regulators and the Bar Council.
