After the end of Pride Month and ahead of this weekend’s Pride in London, we reflect on the significance and meaning of Pride. For some, it is a celebration, a time to connect with community and to experience the joy of liberation. For others, it is a protest, in recognition of the many LGBTQ+ people who continue to face challenges, social and political, both here in the UK and globally. It can also be a time of remembrance, as we reflect on setback and progress over the decades.

The Bar Standards Board is committed to promoting equality of access to the law and justice for all, and to ensuring that there is equality of opportunity in the barrister profession for people from all backgrounds.

Whether celebrating, protesting, or remembering, we hope your Pride Month was full of connection, power, and authenticity. We reaffirm our support for LGBTQ+ communities and ongoing commitment to meaningful inclusion.
