The BSB is recruiting lay members for its Professional Conduct Committee

Do you know anyone who is not a barrister who might be interested in helping us with our work?

We are seeking new non-barrister members for our Professional Conduct Committee. We would welcome applications from lay people with a range of executive and non-executive experience, with expertise in equality and diversity in particular.

We are going through a period of change, having recently reviewed our governance arrangements in relation to many of our committees. The Professional Conduct and Qualifications Committees are also under review, which may result in changes to how the committees operate. Appointments will therefore be for an initial period of up to 18 months.

Lay members are expected to attend meetings every six weeks which are held from 5.00-7.00pm. Meetings take place in London. Lay members are remunerated at a flat rate of £308 per day or £154 per half day to cover both attendance and preparation time.

For more information and to apply, please visit our website. If you have any queries, please contact Alex Williams, Operational Support Team Manager, in the first instance: awilliams@barstandardsboard.org.uk.  The closing date for applications: 5pm Friday 18 November. Interviews will take place in London in the weeks commencing 28 November and 5 December 2016. Dates may vary, including the possible addition of other dates, depending on panel and applicant availability.
