Offence details:

That you, Christina Rundle, being a non-practising barrister providing legal services to members of the public, namely Nigel John Green and Yvonne Elaine Challis in relation to their dispute with Eagle Star Life Assurance Co. Ltd., did, on the 31st October 1999, take a legal charge over land at Clynmelin Farm, Llanllwni, Pencader, Camarthenshire, the property of Yvonne Elaine Challis, the said land being the subject matter of the said dispute, as security for payment of your fees, and that thereafter until at least April 2001 did continue to act for the said Nigel John Green and Yvonne Elaine Challis in the said dispute notwithstanding that you had a personal interest in its subject matter, such conduct being conduct discreditable to a barrister and/or likely to bring the profession into disrepute.

That you, Christina Rundle, being a non-practising barrister providing legal services to members of the public, namely Raymond Ralph Kent and Brian Kent in relation to their dispute with Eagle Star Life Assurance Co. Ltd., did, on the 18th December 1999, take a legal charge over land at Unit 16, Coopies Lane Industrial Estate, Morpeth, Northumberland, the property of Brian Kent, the said land being the subject matter of the said dispute, as security for payment of your fees, and that thereafter until the 8th January 2001 did continue to act for the said Raymond Ralph Kent and Brian Kent in the said dispute notwithstanding that you had a personal interest in its subject matter, such conduct being conduct discreditable to a barrister and/or likely to bring the profession into disrepute.

That you, Christina Rundle, being a non-practising barrister providing legal services to members of the public, namely (1) Nigel John Green and Yvonne Elaine Challis, and (2) Raymond Ralph Kent and Brian Kent, in relation to their respective disputes with Eagle Star Life Assurance Co. Ltd., and on your own account, did, between June 2000 and April 2001, conduct yourself in a manner discreditable to a barrister and/or in such a manner as was likely to bring the profession into disrepute in that (a) in your telephone and written communications with Eagle Star Life Assurance Co. Ltd., and/or its solicitors, Messrs Charles Russell, did persistently express yourself in an unprofessional and discourteous manner, and (b) in your said communications did persistently make threats that unless Eagle Star Life Assurance Co. Ltd., or Charles Russell on their behalf complied with your requests you would report Eagle Star Life Assurance Co. Ltd., to the police and/or bring about unfavourable press publicity concerning their affairs.

That you, Christina Rundle, between 1998 and 31st July 2000, did supply legal services to members of the public without having delivered to the General Council of the Bar a copy of your professional negligence insurance policy or current certificate of insurance for the said period as required by paragraph 212(b)(ii)(b) of the said Code of Conduct.

That you, Christina Rundle, did fail to respond promptly, or at all, to letters of request from the Bar Council dated the 14th June 2001, 4th July 2001 and 24th July 2001, for information concerning your professional negligence insurance policy, the Bar Council having reasonable grounds for believing that a breach of the said Code of Conduct may have occurred.
