Offence details:

Peter Collins, a self-employed Barrister, failed to act with honesty and integrity, in that between 6 January 2014 and 3 August 2016, he dishonestly failed to inform 4 King?s Bench Walk Chambers of the fees which he had received in respect of the 32 public access cases particularised in the List of Cases marked ?Schedule A? and he thereafter dishonestly failed to pay Chambers the total sum of ?4,236.00 which he was legally liable to pay to Chambers in respect of such fees.

Peter Collins, a self-employed Barrister, behaved in a way which was likely to diminish the trust and confidence which the public placed in him or in the profession, in that on or about 18 March 2014, Peter Collins produced or caused to be produced and then sent to his instructing solicitor a fee note in respect of the case of Mr M v Secretary of State for the Home Department, which fee note was false in that it purported to be a fee note produced by or on behalf of 4 King?s Bench Walk Chambers, when the fee note was not produced by or on behalf of 4 King?s Bench Walk Chambers.

Peter Collins failed to comply with the Public Access Rules between 6 January 2014 and 3 August 2016, when acting in his capacity as a self-employed barrister, supplied legal services in the 28 cases particularised in the List of Cases marked ?Schedule B?, which cases were public access work, in that Peter Collins, in accepting public access instructions in each of those 28 cases, did not forthwith notify each of his public access clients in those case in writing, and in clear and readily understandable terms, of any or all of the matters set out in rC125.1 to rC125.9, whether in a letter written in accordance with rC126 or otherwise.
