The Bar Standards Board (BSB) is seeking to appoint a second Independent Reviewer. This role will provide effective independent assurance to the BSB’s Governance, Risk and Audit Committee (GRA) that the regulatory decision-making functions of the BSB are operating in line with the agreed procedures.  

The role holder will work alongside our current Independent Reviewer to provide an independent review mechanism for decisions taken on individual cases. This is primarily in relation to the outcomes of the assessment of reports to the BSB of potential professional misconduct. It also includes subsequent decisions on whether to pursue enforcement or supervisory action following a formal investigation.
