Past disciplinary findings

Gerard Boyd, as a member of the BMIF, failed to pay immediately when due on 1 April 2008 the insurance premium required by the BMIF, contrary to paragraph 402.2(a) of the Code of Conduct. This failure was serious and therefore constitutes professional misconduct pursuant to paragraph 901.5 of the Code of Conduct, by virtue of its nature and extent and previous failures to comply with the Code.

Gerard Boyd failed to respond promptly to requests from the Bar Standards Board for comments or information on a complaint, in that he failed to respond to letters sent to him by the Bar Standards Board dated 17 December 2008 and 27 January 2009, such failure being so serious as to amount to professional misconduct by virtue of its repetition and combination with another failure to comply with the Code (being the failure which is the subject of charge 1, above).
