Joseph Anoom engaged in conduct which was discreditable to a barrister in that between 1 November 2005 and 15 December 2005 he requested ?16,200 from Chandana Lokuketagodage Don, Dineth Luwisdura, and Indika Disanayaka Mudiyanselage on account of the provision of legal services and, having received ?13,950 on account of his request, failed to provide them with legal services commensurate with the sum received or promptly repay the sum.

Joseph Anoom, between 1 December 2005 and 20 December 2005, engaged in conduct which was discreditable to a barrister in that he agreed to pay forthwith to Desmond Silva on behalf of Chandana Lokuketagodage Don and two others the sum of ?14,000 by way of a cheque when he knew that he had insufficient funds to meet such obligation.
