Past disciplinary findings

Ogheneovo Joshua Atikpakpa, a barrister, between the 1st day of January 2002 and the 28th day of January 2003, engaged in conduct which was dishonest or otherwise discreditable to a barrister, in that whilst acting as a solicitor, chief executive and chairman of Joshua & Usman Legal Services Limited, he (1) acted in breach of the Solicitors Accounts Rules 1998; (2) used clients` fund for his own purposes; (3) used clients` funds for the purposes of other clients and/or third parties; (4) dishonestly misappropriated clients` funds; (5) made a mortgage application which was false and which was supported by false documentation. Ogheneovo Joshua Atikpakpa, a barrister, failed promptly to report to the Bar Council that, on the 4th day of November 2004, he had been convicted of 9 disciplinary offences by the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal and had been ordered to be struck off the Roll of Solicitors.
