Rasib Ghaffar, a barrister, acted in a way which was likely to diminish the trust and confidence which the public places in him or in the profession and/or acted in a manner which could reasonably be seen by the public to undermine his integrity, in that on 14 February 2024 he was convicted at Southwark Crown Court of conspiracy to dishonestly make false representation to make gain for self/another/cause loss/expose other to risk contrary to s1(1) of the Criminal Law Act 1977 for which he was sentenced on 21 June 2024 to three years imprisonment.

Sanction:
Disbarred (Sentence still to take effect) and Mr Ghaffar is suspended with immediate effect, pending any appeal.
