On 30 January 2025, Miss Tansey was convicted of the charge of failing to provide a blood specimen pursuant to Section 7 of the Road Traffic Act 1988, and on 4 March 2025, she was sentenced to a Community Order of 130 hours of unpaid work, a two-year disqualification from driving, a victim surcharge of £114 and costs of £650.
Rachael Tansey, an unregistered barrister, failed to report promptly or at all to her regulator, the Bar Standards Board, in line with her professional obligations, that on 30 January 2025 she had received a conviction of a criminal offence under Section 7 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 in relation to her failure to provide a specimen of blood for analysis to police on request after they stopped her on suspicion of drinking while driving.
