Offence details:

Sophia Cannon, an unregistered barrister, engaged in conduct which was likely to diminish the trust and confidence which the public places in her or in the profession in that, in relation to family law proceedings, in which she was a litigant in person, Ms Cannon :

i. on 10 April 2015 Ms Cannon (a) pursued an application or applications which District Judge X found to be without merit and (b) was made the subject of a barring order under section 91(14) for a period of 3 years (preventing her from making any further applications pursuant to Schedule 1 of the Children Act, without the leave of the Court);

ii. on 13 December 2015, she made an application to the court for injunctive relief which, on 10 February 2016, Mr Justice X found was totally without merit;

iii. on 13 July 2016 she made an application to the Court which Mr Justice X found (a) disclosed no reasonable grounds (b) was an abuse of the court’s process (c) was incoherent and made no sense and (d) was totally without merit;

iv. on or around 15 November 2016, she made a further application to the Court which Mr Justice X found was (a) abusive and (b) totally without merit; and

v. on 2 December 2016 she was made the subject of a limited Civil Restraint Order by Mr Justice X under FPR PD 4B para 2.1. which remained in force until 1 February 2018.
