Past disciplinary findings

Ann NG engaged in conduct which was discreditable to a barrister, contrary to paragraph 301(a)(i) of the Code of Conduct, in that while in practice as an advocate and solicitor, she failed to release to her client the balance of monies, amounting to RM 74,905.91 (Malaysian Ringgit), due to him from the sale and purchase of residential property, and in respect of such conduct on 19 January 2012 she was ordered to be struck off the Roll of Advocates and Solicitors of the High Court of Malaya, pursuant to a finding by a Disciplinary Committee of the Advocates and Solicitors? Disciplinary Board on 21 September 2011 that she was guilty of misconduct.

Ann NG failed to report promptly to the Bar Standards Board that she had been convicted of a disciplinary offence by another professional body, namely the Advocates and Solicitors Disciplinary Board of the Malaysian Bar, such failure being contrary to paragraph 905(b)(v) of the Code of Conduct.
