The Bar Standards Board has issued a consultation reviewing the Bar Transfer Test (BTT).
The Bar Transfer Test is predominantly undertaken by solicitors or overseas lawyers seeking to be called to the Bar. The consultation follows a 2008 Review of the BTT, which looked at the content of the test. The Review highlighted the need for consideration of the overarching structure, management and operation of the Test, as well as the need to reconsider the manner in which the test is made available to prospective candidates. This new consultation explores these aspects.
