BSB and King’s College London host event on future of the academic study of law

Along with King's College London, last month we hosted a forum to discuss how the proposed regulatory reform of training for the Bar will affect the academic study of law.

The forum, which brought together representatives from university law schools, featured responses from Professor Anthony Bradney (The Society of Legal Scholars), Alexander Türk (King's College London) and our former Board member Professor Andrew Sanders (University of Sussex). We were also pleased to feature a response from Olivier Peeters and Georg Stigelbauer from The Bar Society of King's College London to offer a student perspective.

The discussions and responses raised in the forum will help inform our decision on Future Bar Training.

We would like to thank all those who contributed and special thanks to King's College London, and Professor Ben Bowling, Acting Executive Dean of The Dickson Poon School of Law, for hosting.

If you would like to host an event with us, please contact the Communications and Public Engagement team at ContactUs@BarStandardsBoard.org.uk.
