The BSB has today published the fifth annual edition of its statistical information on student performance on the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC). As has previously been the case, this year's report shows that training for the Bar remains highly competitive.

Barrister David Farley ordered to be suspended

Barrister David Farley has been ordered to be suspended from practice by an independent disciplinary tribunal following three charges of professional misconduct brought by the Bar Standards Board (BSB). The Tribunal ordered that Mr Farley be suspended for a period of two months starting on 22 July 2019, subject to any appeal.

Unregistered Barrister Michael O'Maoileoin, called to the Bar of England and Wales by Inner Temple in October 2004, was ordered to be disbarred by an independent disciplinary tribunal at a hearing held on 8 May 2019, following charges of professional misconduct brought by the Bar Standards Board (BSB).
