On 21 November 2017 our Director of Regulatory Assurance, Oliver Hanmer joins Aika Stephenson, Legal Director, Just for Kids Law in the legends lounge to discusss good advocacy at the Youth Justice Convention.

What does good advocacy in the youth court look like?

  • Learn about what makes advocacy good or bad in youth court settings
  • Understand the implications of bad advocacy on young people
  • Discuss what can be done to address poor quality advocacy

With significant reforms, new leadership and the publication of the Charlie Taylor Review, this year's Youth Justice Convention (YJC17) will be the most momentous since its creation.

YJC17 will tackle the hardest questions head-on, addressing how the implementation of the Charlie Taylor Review will affect the sector? The changes you need to know? When these changes will happen? What input in the sector you can have? At the same time, the Convention will maintain its focus on the key day-to-day challenges affecting Youth Offending Teams and Services, Local Authorities and Police forces across England and Wales.

Hosted by the Youth Justice Board, the 17th annual Convention will welcome 500+ colleagues and peers from across the Youth Justice sector and will take place on the 21-22 November.
