Our committees

Our Board manages its work through several committees.

We appoint selection panels to oversee the selection of new members of our committees when there is a vacancy.

The selection panel consists of an independent person with knowledge of the Code of Practice of the Commissioner for Public Appointments (or similar skills and experience in good recruitment procedures), at least one and a maximum of two members of the Board, and a member of senior staff of the BSB (as delegated by the Director General).

The Chair of the BSB considers the recommendations of each selection panel before deciding on an appointment.

We advertise for new committee members at least once a year, all vacancies will be advertised on our website - Bar Standards Board jobs
