a. To formulate policy for approval by the Bar Standards Board on all matters relating to the setting of standards for:
i. Standards of professional practice and conduct of students;
ii. Administration of chambers.
b. To keep under review and propose changes to:
i. The Code of Conduct;
ii. The rules relating to the ways in which barristers conduct their practices and to the conduct of students;
iii. The rules governing investigation, prosecution and determination of complaints of professional misconduct or inadequate professional service against barristers and the procedures for assessing whether or not they are fit to practise and any appeals therefrom.
c. To issue guidance on the interpretation of rules and regulations;
d. To liaise and consult with the representative committees, the Inns' Council and the judges as appropriate in exercising its functions;
e. To undertake such other tasks as the BSB may from time to time require;
f. To report annually to BSB on its work.
